We have a custom iView and par file that we have been using for years (NW 7.0). We've been asked to make a modification. We have completed the modification and uploaded the changed par file to the portal (only change was to a custom CSS in the par file). Once we upload the par file the iView that HAD been using the par file loses the code connection and no longer works. The only way to get it to work is to recreate the iView using the par file.
Why are we losing the connection between the iView and the par file during this update process? We are just simply replacing one version of code for another and do not want to have to modfiy the iView.
Regards,
Diane
Hi Diane,
I would compare the name of the newly par file deployed, with the name of the application - to verify that both have the exact same name. It might be that the name was slightly changed (dots, capital letters, etc.)
If they are the same, then please describe the error you get when launching the iView.
You can attach the exception in the default trace.
In order to find the relevant default trace file you can have a look at SAP Note - 1596214.
BTW, did you try restarting the portal?
Best regards,
Michal Zilcha-Lang

We figured it out. The par file we were using was missing the libraries (they had coded their modification in NWDS and had not manually uploaded the libraries). Thus the par file we were uploading into the portal was missing required information.
We obtained a corrected par file and uploaded to the portal. Then refreshed the browser and our change was present. Thanks for the response.
