Restrict Values for Search Help from Dialog box.

Hi Folks,

I got an assignment to make changes to a search help (Elementary)which uses Search help exit. And dialog type is "Dialog depends on set of values".When F4 is pressed on the search help field there is pop up.

$13525B0C4C5A9BB4.bmp

But when i give the dates or Maximum No.of Hits.I doesn't accept the input i.e. if i put 500 and execute i still get the pop up with 5000 entries.

which means the input in dialog box is not recognized. Please help me with how to restrict entries based on the input in Dialog box.

The search help exit uses FM "'F4UT_RESULTS_MAP'" to map the f4 field.

did you set the parameter APPLY_RESTRICTIONS ?

I ask because the documentation of the fm says:

Selection limitations to the display values can flow into the input help

through IMPORT parameters in the search help, through search help parameters

    that have a default
    value
, and through user inputs in the dialog box that limit the values.

By setting the parameter APPLY_RESTRICTIONS, you can ensure that only

those lines are passed from SOURCE_TAB to RECORD_TAB that meet this selection

criteria. If you observe these limitations yourself already when setting up the

SOURCE_TAB, you can leave this parameter at initial value.
