Hello Abhi,

Normally this is how external time management system can be interfaced with SAP HR:

1.  Employees record attendance on your Biometric device

2.  Device updates a DB/File on its server.

3.  Periodically schedule SAP PI to pick this file from the Biometric server or a mutually agreed Filesystem(via FTP) - or if the Biometric server allows, SAP PI can call an RFC to retrieve the clock-in/clock-out data.

4. SAP PI will then transfer this to SAP HR via the time integration point (HR-PDC). BAPI's are available here.

You can search for HR-PDC and should get some insights into this.

Hope this helps.

Hi Abhi,

I think it should works regardless of SAP. For example we are using fingerprint devices but there is no need to have anything special in SAP. In this case you should scan EE's fingerprint and save it with his/her id in device. SAP and clock-in/out devices just connect thru IT0050.

Device is responsible to capture data anyway and identify who is EE then when you transfer data into SAP, programs transfer related data to EE profile by identifying related person id from IT0050.

I hope I have understood correctly.

Dear Mr. Omid,

The SAP file accepts which extension file.

Our Biometrics can export in csv file only and that too not automatically.

We have to manual export the report.

Is there any solution for this.

Have a look at report RPTEUP10. Run it by SE38.

There is a useful document by Srikanth at http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-27090
