Process vs Discrete Mfg in APO

Hi Experts,

I was a bit confused whethee to post this question in PP forums or here but hope you can help me here itself ...

I understand that we use Routings, workcenters in Discrete Mfg and Recipes,resources in Process Mfg. We have production orders in discrete and process orders in process mfg.

My doubts are :

1. Do we activate any specific settings in ECC -- to use either Process or Discrete ?  ( any add-on like for IS-Mill (just an example).

2. In APO -- do we need to put some corresponding add-on ? I think no  -- but request you to confirm.

Hi,

There are certain configuration to be activated in ECC

1. Routing selection

2.Order type configuration

Apart from that nothing much, based on master data you can go with either discrete or recipe

In APO there is nothing specific about discrete or Process.
