SAP NetWeaver_Architecture: First Discussion In The NetWeaver_Architecture Category

Good Afternoon All,

today is a historic day for SAP Architects, today, thanks to the great support of and we now

have a NetWeaver_Architecture Category where we can do everything NetWeaver_Architecture related.

There is still a lot of work to do, but this is a big step for Architects.

Thank you all who have helped so far.

Our next task, is to use the Category, if we use it we could get a (Sub) Space, if we don't use it, we could lose it.

Welcome.

For now, do not forget, EVERYTHING you do in here, blogs, documents, discussions, you need to tag everything with NetWeaver_Architecture and if SAP Component Specific, <SAP-AREA>_Architecture, eg BPM_Architecture.

All the best,

Andy.

It's rather a click on the category than a tag....

Benny

PS: And i added the category for this message...

Hi Benny,

thank you for clarifying.

NetWeaver_Architecture:

or

<SAP-AREA>_Architecture:

should be part of the Discussion Subject line.

Where <SAP-AREA> is the area of SAP for the Architecture Discussion.

This is the link to the NetWeaver Architecture Discussions

Thanks and best regards,

Andy.

If you look at the overview page page for the space and click on the Content tab, you can see the category on the left hand side. Click on that and you'll get just the content in that category.

Please don't add any tagging to the subject lines. That's unnecessary clutter.

Steve.

Hi Andy,

  1. go to the NetWeaver Technology space
  2. click on NetWeaver Architects under Categories (middle column, third box)
  3. click on the discussions icon.

Isn't that what you wanted? Well, a space is still better, I know. But there is no mix up of discussions at all.... Or did I miss something here?

Regards,

Benny

Hi Steve,

granted, I didn't realise we'd have our own discussion area.

I will modify all comments and remove the advice to add Architecture to the subject.

Hi Benny,

thank you.

That is an excellent start.

It ticks all the boxes and it looks great with your widget right in the middle of the screen, until such time as we get a space.

Have a great weekend,

Andy.

The thing that always bothers me about categories is that while it is easy to select all the content in a category, selecting all the content not in a category isn't so easy. That probably doesn't matter so much in this case, but there are other spaces/categories where it does.

I find tagging works better than categories, personally.

Well, tagging also goes over all spaces. My first attempt to see what is tagged "architecture" over all ended up pretty much with an overload....

Also there are people who never get that tagging does not need any delimiters.

But well, we will get there over time.

Benny

Given that netweaver architecture discussions are currently taking place in several spaces, that property of tags is a good thing. It should make it all easier to find. Although because there's no structure to tags and no rules for what tags to apply, that searching doesn't always result in the most helpful of result sets, as you discovered!

Short of a space or sub-space, I guess a category is the best compromise.

Steve.
