Where will HANA sit on my system?

Hi All,

In my current architecture, I have data in SAP R3 system as well as in Oracle database. On top of SAP R3 I have SAP BI above which I have SAP BO for reports development.

I such an architecture, I wanted to know, if I want to implement HANA, where in the flow will HANA come into picture? On implementing HANA, I will not need Oracle as a database? I mean, HANA will work as a database?

Also, should I implement BODS? Where will BODS come into the flow?

My thoughts:

  Option #1 and Option #3 go hand-in-glove. I personally recommend this infrastructure.

  If BW is not in the picture then, option #4 is good.

Theoretically, there are multiple options.

My preference is Option 1, if not, then Option 2. Regarding Option 3, 4, and 5, frankly I don't have much experience on ECC on HANA.
