GR w.r.t. STO error for Stock in Transit

Hallo Experts

We have issue with GR w.r.t. STO.
Material has Base Unit as EA and alternative unit as BOX. Conversion is 1 BOX = 12 EA.
In receiving plant of STO, "On-Order Stock" and "Stock in Transit" was ZERO (0).
Now STO created for 1 BOX. "On-Order Stock" at receiving plant becomes 1 Box (12 EA).
With reference to STO, Outbound delivery and PGI created for 1 BOX. At receiving plant, "Stock in Transit" becomes 1 Box (12 EA).
GR posted w.r.t. delivery for 1 EA. Now at receiving plant in MMBE, "On-Order Stock" changed from zero to 11.004 EA (0.917 BOX) and "Stock in Transit" becomes 11 EA (0.917 BOX).

While posting next GR w.r.t. delivery for remaining quantity, it is giving error message as "PL Stock in transit exceeded by 0.004 EA".

I guess, system is trying to post "On-Order Stock" 11.004 EA and validating it with "Stock in Transit" 11 EA. This 0.004 EA may be the difference between "On-Order Stock" 11.004 EA and "Stock in Transit" 11 EA.

I searched for issue and found SAP Note 896701. Please tell me whether issue can be resolved by applying this Note.

SAP Note 896701 will not clear your difference.

But just clearing the difference will not help you to understand the problem and not to avoid it in future.

From itself it does certainly not happen what you described.

if 1 BOX = 12 EA, then you will usually not have any rounding errors like in conversions between lb and kg

    what is your base unit?

in which unit was the goods issue done?

was there any change in conversion ratio in your material master, in the info record, in the PO, in the outbound delivery?

    • SAP Note 896701 - Transaction MMBE displays on-order stock incorrectly

fixes a display problem in MMBE. The data base is correct. So I see no real connection to your issue.

Nevertheless it will not harm to apply the note, with the next hotpackage implementation you will get it anyway.

With the given information I cannot evaluate why your system does such fractions. I could certainly find the reason for such in my system within an hour. But we would probably need 20 to 50 more replies with screen shots to investigate it via the forum.

I suggest you open a call to SAP, they can logon to your system to investigate if this is caused by a bug in the program or in front of the PC.

    Hello,

You wrote : "GR posted w.r.t. delivery for 1 EA. Now at receiving plant in MMBE, "On-Order Stock" changed from zero to 11.004 EA (0.917 BOX) and "Stock in Transit" becomes 11 EA (0.917 BOX)."

I think this line is not correct.

If it is correct then check you unit of measure conversation.

As per your given conversation 1 box = 12 EA,

.004 should not allow in EA.

    Check you entry.

      Thanks Dibyendu for reply,

I had stated correctly that after GR for 1 EA, "On-Order Stock" was changed to fractional quantity to 11.004 EA. Unit conversion maintained as 1:12 and not changed in material master, infor record, PO or delivery. It was not changed in either case.

This fractional update is happening in few other cases also.

You need to increase stock in transit with 0.004 EA to receive "On-Order Stock" 11.004 EA.

This can be done in MIGO with A01 Goods Receipt, R10 Other, movement type 558 (Receipt into stock in transit). After adjusting stock in transit, try to receive 11.004 EA. It will post it.
