BI Mobile 5.0 Content Not Being Refreshed

Former Member

Hi

We have removed some docs from the mobile categories and even deleted the docs from the CMC, but they continue to be presented on the Ipad?

I have turned off work offline, disconnected and reconnected. Restarted ipad and restarted the BI server and no luck...

Further, some docs that we have set the category to mobile do not show up. The user security is everyone

We are on BI 4 SP7 and latest version of mobi and IOS 6 and IOS 7.

How can I refresh the content so that the mobile users no longer see these old docs and receive those recently published

Hi Lee,

Please confirm the following:

Issue 1: We have removed some docs from the mobile categories and even deleted the docs from the CMC, but they continue to be presented on the Ipad?

Answer: Seems like you have downloaded the document(s) on your iPad. In this case, click on the info icon on the document and choose "Remove from My Items" option. this step will remove copy of the document that was saved locally in MOBI and original document continues to exist in the server. Now, logoff and then log back in to SAP BI App on iPad. Let me know if this works for you.

Issue 2: Further, some docs that we have set the category to mobile do not show up. The user security is everyone.

Queries:

2.a) What is the Document Type ?

2.b) Is the workflow reproducible using 'Administrator' (Enterprise) user ? Here I am assuming that the 'Administrator' rights has not been modified in your environment.

2.c) What is the Mobile Category name you have tagged with the document ?

2.d) Is the same Mobile Category name defined in mobi.properties file under default.corporateCategory parameter ?

Thanks Arijit

Issue1:  Obsolete docs.  No, the docs have never been viewed.  I know this because they are versions of the dashboard a developer saved with filenames likes version1, version2, etc...

Issue2:  Missing docs.

a) Doc type is XLF Dashboard.  I republished mobile version again

b) Catgegory is Mobile  and a subfolder under it.  Missing 2 docs while others in same category are displayed on mobile

c) See b

Thanks for your help.  I have also opened OSS message as we are trying to go live with our execs.  No luck so far...

Regards

This is not a device issue. It occurs on multiple ipads and differentusers. We found that the obsolete items where in a user folder, the developer, but not listed in the CMC > Categories.

We deleted these objects from the user folder and they now do not show up on mobile

Again, these objects were not in the mobile category so why are they showing up on mobile?

As for the missing content. We removed it from the mobile category, added it back and republished mobile version and it is there now.

So we have cleaned up the mobi content, but it seems there is still a bug. If you save a mobile dashboard version to the platform, but do not assign the mobile category, that dashboard errantly
shows up in mobi

Got a call from SAP and they confirmed that this is the expected behavior.  If you save a mobile version of a dashboard anywhere in the platform, it will show up in mobi, regardless if it is assigned in the mobile categories.  Explained this is just the way it works for now in BI4 SP7.

The problem is that you have no way to know if a dashboard is mistakenly published to mobile since it will not show up in the mobile category.  The only way to know is when a user notices on the device!

Submitted to SAP  idea place  - Mobile Dashboards should only be displayed on Mobi if in Mobile Category
