Hello,
We have decided to go from manual ECCN and License Determination Rules to automatic XML upload. I have scanned the discussion group but I didn't find a definitive answer to this particular aspect.
From what I have gathered, I need to delete the master data from these tables from the scheme before I can change the configuration..
/SAPSLL/CTSNUM
/SAPSLL/CTSNUMT
/SAPSLL/CTSGEN
/SAPSLL/CTSGENT
What about the License Determination Rules? Do these need to be deleted before being re-configured as well?
Also, when everything is reloaded, how are the existing documents affected since GTS is GUID-based? Will all open documents have to be completed before doing this process? Can the existing documents be displayed without issue?
Any insight would be helpful.
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Regards, Dean.
Hi Dean,
First the good news; you won't need to delete the Licence Determination rules.
Each product is classified against the GUID of the CTSNUM entry - not against the classification value (ECCN) that you see on the screen. So deleting the master data means that the classification is lost, in the Products, the Licences, and the existing documents.
I have no idea whether or not it's even possible to display Licence, Product or Document data when the classification doesn't exist. I hope it is, but you might hit one of those situations where a Message Type 'X' (dump) is triggered - you'd have to try it in a Test system.
As for what to do...? I'd suggest downloading the classification data to a file, and after making the changes & uploading the XML files, use the standard program (/SAPSLL/ALNUM_UPLOAD_R3) to upload the classification again. You'll also need to record the codes assigned to each Licence, and get those re-entered. Probably you'll need to adjust the Status first in order to make changes, and it might be best to delete the existing classifications before you start, if the system allows it.
As for the existing documents..? That needs more thought - perhaps others have some ideas that they've already tried...
Regards,
Dave

Hmmm... Dave....
I see your point. Maybe this will work...
If I load the XML Scheme into a New Scheme. Then in the assign Scheme for ECCNs, add the new scheme with a Valid From of today. That should allow for using the New Scheme going forward and allow for loading the LDR (License Determination Rules) from the content provider.
What do you think?
Regards, Dean.
