ddic password for distributed installation of ecc 5.0 ides?

hi,

i'm trying to do a distributed installation of ecc 5.0 ides. the installation of the app server on a linux box was fine, but the installation of db-server on a solaris-box raises the following problem: one of the last installation steps makes it necessary to connect to the app server via ddic-user(rfc). the standard-pwd (19920706) seems not to work and i haven't changed the password. my guess is that in the ides database-load is still the ddic-password from the original ides ecc-system.

has anybody made similar experiences or knows how to fix it?

You can log on with SAP*, and set the password. Alternatively you can run the report usually started via RFC by hand (SM37). I do not remember the report name, but it should be mentioned in the sapinst logfile. Your installation is almost complete.
