changing mitigation monitor for a control

Hello,

I'm trying to change monitor for a control which is already mitigated in many roles. Its throwing me an error saying AC Owner XXX is mitigated and cannot be changed. I implemented note 1779705 . Now I can change the approver , but not the monitor.

Is there any way to change this without removing the mitigation assignments ?
