In Insurance terminology: Loss Triangle is a table of loss experience showing total losses for a certain period at various, regular valuation dates, reflecting the change in amounts as claims mature. It's majorly used for Claim reserving in Insurance.

Older periods in the table will have one more entry than the next youngest period, leading to the triangle shape of the data in the table showing paid losses or total incurred losses.

Query displays the loss payment by incident year, policy year and calendar year.

Pick up payments for all Loss Benefit types from ICLPAYI, depending upon different periods.

I could find some info, probably may help you.

    Hi Swati

In our experience building Loss Triangles often involves bringing in data from more than one source and the data volumes are very large.  So we have used a product called Sharperlight that allows you to develop data models, not data clouds or data warehouses (although you can if you want) that run extremely quickly, without degrading real time performance.  The reports we create do tend to be client specific but fundamentally provide the same data.

Be happy to contact you to discuss or vice versa?

    Regards

      Hi Swati

Unfortunately I can't help you with production of Loss Triangles in BI / WEBI.  But we have developed Hana calculation views that connect directly to claims transactional tables and produce paid loss triangles by accident or report year across various dimensions leveraging aggregation on the fly for all the triangle periods.  We can create paid loss triangles in one operation in seconds using Hana views and visualization via Analysis for Excel.  This is part of the Hana Live for Insurance content delivered in Hana SP04.

Please contact me if this is of interest to you.

      Cheers,

    Hi Swati,

There is a standard business content BEx report present for Loss triangle. Please refer the link shared by Anish.

    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73ehp1/helpdata/en/e9/6b00aae3ae434f96640488b8053457/content.htm?frameset=/en/3e/0a453caff4f703e10000000a114084/frameset.htm

Since you need the report in WEB-I, what you can do is, create a universe on top of this BEx query using IDT and then create a Web-I report using the universe. The steps will be similar to creating any other Web-I report.

    Regards,

    Gaurav
