Last posting run Terminated - AA730: Already restarted terminated run

Dear Guru's,

Asset accounting is a complete mystery to me. I have a problem that in our production environment we get the error:

Last posting run terminated (Restart in period 2103 003)

So in our test environment I tried running the depreciation run, it gave the same error so I ran the depreciation run for period 03 in 'restart' mode (first as a test run), I fixed the errors and then did the run for real. Now if I look at one of my assets in the Asset Explorer (AW01N), it also shows that the depreciation for period 3 is posted and I received no errors after running the depreciation.

However when I attempt to run the depreciation for period 4 in a test run, no matter if I make it a planned or unplanned run, it returns the same error to me: Last posting run terminated (Restart in period 2013 003).

Checking in SM37, all jobs have finished, I see no errors in the job log.

I have no clue what the problem is, hopefully you can help me.

Hi,

According to me, Kindly check the Log of Posting Run for the Period 3 FY 2012 in T-Code 'AFBP' there you will find the errors due to which the Depreciation posting was terminated. Then you fix the problem and then run the Restart Run for the Period 03. You can also check the error assets, by ticking the Check box of Error Log and run the depreciation for 03 period in restart mode.

Sometimes its seen that though in AW01N its showing the depreciation is posted but in actual case its not posted. So kindly double click on the Posted Depreciation line for Period 03 and then check whether the depreciation documents is posted or its showing as error.

Hi Malhar,

Thank you for your input, I did not know transaction AFBP, but it seems that it had stopped my previous attempts to run the depreciation run in restart mode. I have redone the depreciation run in 'restart' mode today and it worked just fine. The accounting department has confirmed to me that everything has been depreciated correctly and that also the run of period 4 was correct. So we can now get to fixing the problem in production.

Without opening the previous period can we rectify the error ?
that is we had issue with GL during previous period, that was fixed now that period is closed now for the new period its still the error. how to go about without restarting the previous period ?

Please check AFBP - Errors, if any for period

Also try to rerun for period 3 in error mode and check errors of any. There must be some error which have not been cleared for period 3

Note 402705 - RABUCH00: AA730 after repeat run (the system issues error message AA730 'Last posting run terminated (Restart in period & &)')
