Solman Upgrade stuck

Former Member

Hi,

We are upgrading from Solman 7.01 to 7.1 Sp8.

During the dowtime we got error in XPRAS phase due multiple active implementation in few BADI's.

I found the note to rectify the error for BADI's. 1828106, 1802383, 1808669.

But i am currently unable to login to Shadow instance as it says upgrade still running.

And the original system is also not coming up. It displays error Dispatcher not running when i do dpmon = pf < profile name >

The Dev_disp log is not getting updated and there are not logs which has relevant information.

Please help.

Regards

Abhishek

You can unlock the shadow instance by using

tp unlocksys <SAPSID> pf=<transport profile>

tp unlock_eu <SAPSID> pf=<transport profile>

usually for a shadow system the profile is located under the put directory and callled DEFAULT.TPP

The simply fix your badi's and resume the upgrade

Hello

But i am currently unable to login to Shadow instance as it says upgrade still running.

You can login to the system with the DDIC user.

To make any changes to the system you need to unlock the system like mentioned above.

You need to wait for few seconds for the system to be unlocked.

Hi,

Just want through some of the note you mentioned and not all are valid for your system.

Can you please also share the actual issue.

But i am currently unable to login to Shadow instance as it says upgrade still running

Can you please read the below note section.

Phase: MAIN_SWITCH/STARTSAP_TRANS

Description: Only in the case that you operate your SAP Solution Manager  with SAP kernel 700 patch level 250 or 251, the following error might occur during this upgrade phase:

"T:6500 Error in program 'SAPup': ======> Upgrade still running: Log Logon not possible"

To solve this error, exchange your SAP kernel by a new 700 kernel.

Note 1781833 - Add. Info. About Upgrading to SAP Solution Manager 7.1
