Solman Installation error(SDM call of change passwords end with return code -1)

Hi experts,

I am installing SOLMAN 7.1 SR1 on windows 2012 with MSSQL 2008R2.

in the installation process at install java engine phase I hit with the error

SDM call of change passwords end with return code -1.

Hi Anil,

The issue seems to be because of the the SAPJVM.

Kindly try to upgrade the SAP JVM and see whether it works.

Hi Joseph,

I haven't completed the installation yet.. i am in middle of installation.

Can we upgrade SAPJVM in middle of installation?, If How, cam i know the procedure

Hi Anil,

Please follow the below steps.

1.Please download the SAPJVM from the market place.

2. Uncar the SAPJVM .

3. Go to SAPINST directory , there you can find the sapjvm folder.. Take a backup of it.

4. copy the  SAPJVM extracted one to the sapjvm folder in the sapinst.

Close the SAPINST and start again.

Hi,

Try to update the SAPJVM  in /sapmnt/SID/exe/jvm/<server>/sapjvm.

Close the SAPINST and try again.

I faced the same issue bit long before and it was rectified after patching the SAPJVM.

I updated SAPJVM latest version in exe folders and i can continue my installation.

Now i stuck at  start Java engine.
I tried to start java through MMC manually but cannot

Do i need add any environmental variables for java?

Did i miss something during installation

Please look at the blow note Note 548252 - SDM auto-install does not work

This basically explains the problem which if corrected might solve your problem.

Hi Kumar,

have you checked the permissions on the files?

If you unzip a file with sapcar than do it with <sid>adm because it can be that another user (with which you unzipped the file) has administration authorizations on the file and <sid>adm not.

Hi,

I am started & running installation with Administrator.
i unzipped a file using administrator user
all the files and folder having <sid>adm user in permissions, i even given 777 permission.

u want me continue installation using <sid>adm?

2. Do kernel upgrade and bring it to the latest level(n-1).
