Document Number Incorrect in Text Field

Hi Guys,

We are in the process of upgrading to ECC6. The number range for 03 (Depreciation Postings) had to be changed from External to Internal Number Assignment. Once this was changed the Current Number for range 03 had to be changed to match the last document number used for that number range.

Transaction AFAB was then successfully executed and the correct Document Number was created.

However, when we execute transaction FBL3N the text field does not pull the corresponding document number . Instead it starts using document number 0000000001.

See screenshot below

Correct Line Item

Document number 300000097. Text AFB01201300101 - 0300000097

Incorrect Line Item

Document 300000118. Text AFB0120131201 - 0000000006 (this number should of been 03000000118)

Can anyone advise how to change the Document Number in the Text Field ?

    Hi,

this is standard behavior with ECC 6.0. It is related to the fact, that the depreciation run writes the internal reference document number into the text field.

Please see note 890976 ' Converting closing report to internal doc number assgnmnt' for details:

"The G/L document number is no longer displayed on the output list of the depreciation posting run, instead only the reference document number - with which all accounting documents were posted - is displayed. The corresponding general ledger document number(s) are logged in the job log and also in the Schedule Manager (Transaction ARMO). You can then navigate to the accounting documents via the depreciation log."

    Kind Regards,

    Steffen

I dont think there is anything wrong in it. This is how standard SAP posts. Text line is updated with reference to the asset document # posted. For ex: Goto table TABA. That would give you the document numbers posted for each period. This is the document which comes on the document text line. Not sure why would you care to change the text line information??

    Thanks
