delta population in delta queue

Hi everybody,

I have created a generic datasource for one of my application which is delta enabled. After first initilisation from bw, the delta queue of my generic datasource will be visible for us in the R/3 system (which can be viewed using transaction rsa7). My question is weather i can by any method, populate this delta queue (of my generic datasource) when i run my application (certainly the application source code should be modified) to capture these delta records after the initializatiion process. I mean to specify the same process that happens in the case of application datasources where the delta records are populated in the respective delta queues when the corresponding transaction is run.

Also instruct me to how to fetch the data from the queue ( I mean if everthing is done by function modules..).

Sabu.

    Hi,

You need to do nothing for capturing new and changed records for generic extractor with delta capable. Whenever you do requesting of delta records, it basically pushes those modified or changed records from base table. So there will be no intermediate table as exist in LO technic.

      HI krish,

My application do not store time information, though creation date and change date is avilable. My present situation does not allow me to modify the table to insert the time information also. If i use the Generic delta handling techniques using timestamp or date, there is a chance of data loss or data replication which is not tolerable for my application. If I could have these delta record stored in the delta queue, I may not worry about data loss or data replication during delta extraction ( because i may get the exact no of delta records from delta queue). Hope you understand my situation. Is it really possible to populate the delta queue and the read from it. If I am not able to poulate the delta queue, I am planning to create my own database so that i can push the delta record at the time of creation od delta records(when the transaction is executed) and delete from this database at the time of extraction.

      Ok bye,

      Thanks in advance,

      Sabu.
