Source System Issues while transporting in BW environment

Dear all,

I am from the Basis team and having a strange issue here and need your kind help in solving the same.

Our BW team had a strange requirement of transporting certain process chain and DS(s) from the production BW system (XBP) to our development system (XBD). Duirng the transport we it failed due to certains source system conversion issues. However we fixed all those and maintained all the relevant entries at RSLOGSYSMAP table (Navigation: RSA1-->Tools-->Conversion of Logical System Names).

Please not in XBP one of our R/3 source system is XCP100 and in XBD its XCD100. I have mapped these entries correctly.

Now we are seeing two kind of errors:

1. Source system doesnt exist. Most weird is that it is not showing which source system doesnt exist. Do you have any idea to trace out which source system it is refreing to? I have checked all the source systems and they are working fine. If I could atleast get to know which source system it is refering to then I could have worked on it. Please help..

2. I have pasted below a part of second error. Does this mean its trying to connect to XCP100 source system which it shouldnt because as per RSLOGSYSMAP table I have already made the changes making XCP100 as source and XCD100 as target. So conversion would have worked correctly. Please help.

Results of check for process LOADING ZPAK_678WZ4B3ZK84Q9K8LH3M1CMD1 in chain WE_CO_I_DF_MD:

DS 0STRBUSUNIT_TEXT from the QS XCP100 does not exist in A version; cannot load

Results of check for process LOADING ZPAK_8T22OWVBMQATOSNQ0OP0GTZNL in chain WE_CO_I_DF_MD:

DS 0G_CWWPDC_TXT from the QS XCP100 does not exist in A version; cannot load

Thanks all for the expertise sharing, I have marked Helpful to the replies which I felt could be helpful for others  facing the same kind of issues.

But, issue was resolved by recollecting all the objects but in two different trs and reimporting the same.

Hello Avishek,

Please check if Note 994558 - Error message 'Source system does not exist' BI7.0(SP11)

helps you.

I still recollect while applying the SP to BI system, I was getting same error as you but it clearly mentioned the system id, so I followed Note 1564964 - Source system XYZ does not exist to get past that.

Cheers,

Vishal

Hello Vishal

Thanks for sharing the notes. They are great information provider. But the notes wont help because:

My SAP is on BW 730 so note 994558 is N.A. for me

I cant see the source system ID, hence dont know what to delete hence 1564964 doesnt help either.

However, it might help fellows facing the same kind of issues, hence marking helpful.

Hello

Do you have any invalid entries in the table RSBASIDOC ?

Nope, RSBASIDOC looks clean and crunchy . No invalid entries there.

Hi,

As you have already maintained - XCP100 as source and XCD100 as target; there should not be issue.

Please check if there is entry of XCD100 as source and XCP100 as target also there. If yes try removing this entry and check.

Between just try to transport any info object or query element. Some object that is not source system dependent. This will confirm you that issue is in source system mapping only that you are maintaining by Conversion of logical source system only and nothing in moving transports from XCP100 to XCD100.

Hi Anil,

I have tried that as well but to no avail.

By the way, if you can see the error message (screenshot) says:

"Source System (now there are two empty spaces) does not exist"

Doesnt it look wierd?? Any ideas??

Thanks.

Hi,

After copying the changes have you tried to restore the source system.

Please check with your BW team if they can help you restore the BW XBD system and then XCD in Rsa1 transaction.

I know that you have done connection Test but Restore will generate all the object that are currently inactive which you might require after the change.

Check with your BW team what they say about it.

Thanks

Hi Rishi,

Thanks a lot for the response.

By the way the system copy was done way back in 2012 and probably they have missed certain things. I was not there and now doing this tr is revealing all the hidden secrets .

By the way, I am aware of the restore process and I have done it for the My BW system, but not done for XCD though. I have note your point and will work on that if the note http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1850890 doesn't work.

Will keep you posted.

Thanks.
