Hi folks,
I have some java applications developed with PDK5.0 and I need to deploy them to a EP6.0 installation. Does the EP6.0 run a PDK5.0 java application? Is this possible? Is there a migration tool for this? What do I need to do?
Any doc reference will be quite welcome.
Thanx in advance,
Geraldo Silveira.

Hi Geraldo,
There is no problem in running the sample application given in PDK 5.0 on EP 6.0. There is no compatibilty issues for these application. The only difference comes when you require some jars or those fucntions which are newly updated in PDK.
Just try and run those applications on EP6.0. They will work fine. If there are some problem then me know. I will try and help you solving them.
Hope this solves your problem.

Hi Pravesh Verma,
So, can I import the .par file generated by PDK5.0 directly into EP6?
I need to do some changes to some of the applications before deploying them to EP6. What tool should I use? NW Developer Studio? PDK6.0? Can I import the existing PDK5 applications to this tool?
Thanks, regards,
Geraldo.
Hi Geraldo,
Yes dear you can do that. Just deploy the .par file in to the portal and try and preview these applications from an iView. It will work fine.
If you want to make some editing to these .par file then you need NW Developer studio. Just import these .par file to NWDS and do what ever editing you want to do in that.
I hope this solves your problem.
Regards
Pravesh
