We recently upgraded our Solution Manager system (SOL) to 7.1 SP08. All out systems are connecting to the SOL SLD. All systems are on Windows 2008 R2 and MS SQL 2008 R2.
Everything looks good, except that I can't get our systems' kernel and IGS versions to show up in the SLD, which causes weird things in the LMDB down the road. I found some OSS notes, e.g. 1700074, but we are running kernel 7.20_EXT patch 402 on both the sending systems and in SOL, so we are way beyond the patch level for krnlreg.exe and krnlreg.xml that we needed. I even downloaded the latest dw_utils (patch 417), but it doesn't change a thing.
Does anybody have an idea?
Do you have a requirement that they have to reside in the SLD?
Does the data exist under the RCA work center > System Analysis > <SID> > Change Reporting
On the left you should have a IGS-Release [1 Store] > IGS_LEVEL
and the kernel can be found under <hostname> > Installed on path \usr\sap\<SID> > INSTANCES [9 Stores] > SAP_Kernel

Well, my problem is that the LMDB shows components as not installed that actually are installed. When I look at those components, I see that it is because it doesn't know about the IGS.
The RCA doesn't really show me anything, since we don't have managed systems configured and have no intention to do so at this time. All we really want from SOL is accurate patch and EHP calculation in MOPZ.
