searching portal content

Hi all,

I would like to configure TREX to search the URL iViews are accessible by the current user and display the results.

The links in the results should navigate back to the corresponding iview in the content area. In other words the TLN and detailed navigation should match the link in the result set.

Thanks in advance.

Janvi.

Hi Janvi,

it depends on how perfect your solution should be.

The PCD-repository is available in SPS14. This repository can also be used for indexing and search.

But here is an idea that may fit your needs :

Create your a separate folder where you store 'your' pcd-link-documents. For example 'Room XYZ'. Set the contentlink of this document to the respective PCD-link.

You can find it on attaching it to your portal favorites. Then organize your favorites -> Details -> Properties -> Access link.

Example:

navurl://4d375cdf6898fcc36232bae0478eb9b4

You might as well copy this document and set a description text. This description text is scanned on a normal search and the document link causes a portal navigation.

This scenario can be rather easily combined with sponsored links, where you set the link to such a PCD-navigation-link:

The PCD links are then offered as 'special navigation' links for the user, eg when he searches for 'My Rooms'.
