FRT_EDIT - Attaching PDF Documents to Transactions

Former Member

Hi

My company has implemented the Transaction Manager recently and are expanding the functionality to use some different instruments like Debt and Inter-Company Loans where we want to attach a PDF file to the transaction.  This is backup to the transaction. I execute T-Code FTR_EDIT and enter a Company Code and Transaction Number and press "CHANGE" to display the transaction.  When I click on the "Servicews for Object" Icon and then choose CREATE, I expect to see a "Create Attachment" option and I do not.  See screenshot below which is for a Commercial Paper transaction but we think we should be able to attach a file to any type of transaction..

Why is this option missing? We have searched through SAP documentation and the SAP Treasury and Risk Management book and cannot determine if we are missing some configuration or other setup to make this happen.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to attach a PDF file to our transactions?

Thank you.

Hi

The 'Store Business Document' will only be active when an ArchiveLink document is configured against the object in question. In your case the object is BUS2042

You can use the transaction code OAC3 to do the configuration and document type with PDF configuration under

Application Server > Basis Services > ArchiveLink > Basic Customizing

Hope that this helps

Cheers

Hi Taro

We got some information back from SAP regarding the ablity to improve the identification of the attachements within a Global Document Type (or category).  Knowledge Base Article

1513057  describes the probllem and prescribes two OSS notes:

1560955 and 1451769.  I believe this will populate the following fields on the attachment list.

Client, Archive Doc ID, File Name, Creator, Description and Create Time.

Our Sandbox systems is getting refreshed from or Production System today and tomorrow.  Once it's back on line, I'm planning to get these OSS notes applied and see what happens.  This should greatly improve the ability to identify contents of each document...or at least its purpose.

I thought you might like an update.

Best Regards

Hi Taro

Your advice was extremely helpful.  By configuring a configuring a Global Document Type with  PDF, XLS and DOC files endings, we can attach PDF, Excel and Word Document files to our Treasury Transactions.

One more question with the "Store Business
Documents" service...is there a way to assign a label to the file being
stored? We can configure additional Global Document Types to provide categories
of documents stored using the BUS2042 Object Type but if we want to store more
than 1 document to the same category, we need a way to "label" them
differently.  For example if I create a
Global Document Type for .DOC file called "Trade Confirmation
Document", I may have 3 different documents to store under this category
and I want to know how to tell the difference.
A label would help differentiate one individual document from another.

Is this possible?

Thank you.
