password configuration using system profile parameter in SAP ISA user

Hi All,

As per our current ISA system that limits the password to either 40 or 8 characters. When set at 40 characters, each time the customer resets their password (and the initial password) a cryptic 40 character long complex password is generated; this is an unrealistic password for a customer. When set at 8 characters the customer is limited to only 8 characters which is too small for many users.

This problem is compounded by the fact that the “login/password_downwards_compatibility” system profile parameter must be changed each and every time the system is restarted or ISA will default back to a 40 character password.

We would like to a password that has a 20 character maximum but has a reset and initial password of six to eight characters. We would like this to be a permanent change and not a flag than needs to be changed each time the system is restarted.

How we can configure it ?

    Dear Yaten,

I think, this is not an Internet Sales issue. It is more related to the SAP Netweaver Administration topics.

Possible the following community can help SAP NetWeaver Administrator.

Thanks and best regards. Inna Rau.
