Clear FEHLER table entries only ?

Hi ,

     I need to improve the performance of the Report RPTERL00. Please give any option to improve the performance .

    If deletion of FEHLER table entries in Cluster B2 is the only option , then how can i delete the entries in FEHLER table without effecting any other details in the Cluster. Is their any standard report program exists to delete these entries.

Dear Aditya,

You can execute the report with Perner and date selection to mimise the performance issue. As Omid rightly said you can delete the messages as well.

Dear Aditya,

I realized how you should delete the error messages by debugging PT40.

As I said one way is deleting time evaluation result from PCL2 by RPUPD200.

Another way is using report RPTERR01 or Tcode PT40.

Run PT40, entered personnel number and click on Error Handling button.

You must fix the error and if you do this system will tick the error with a green check box. In this case you can delete the error record.

Otherwise system will show an error message.

Check the table V_T555E table ,if any unwanted errors ,delete it.

Transaction Code - SM30 and table name V_T555E.

But I don't think so to delete ay record from V_T555E. This is like a master data. It's list of all error messages system will generate in time evaluation duration. So I recommend to don't touch it.

Aditya, why you would delete error messages without deleting time evaluation result? I think you should delete time evaluation result which error messages are part of it. Use reports RPUP1D00 and RPUP2D00 to delete PCL1 and PCL2.

You know system generates error and it's a day to day activity for time admin to control error messages by PT_ERL00 and fix the issues. So error messages are strongly related to time evaluation result and it's a single entity. I mean if you would delete it you should delete time evaluation result also.

            The major activity is I need to improve performance of the program RPTERL00  program. So i thought of deleting the FEHLER messages. But client is not intrested to remove remaining entries in  the cluster.

Hi Aditya,

What's going wrong with performance issue of the report? Select by date, personnel number, message number and so on.

I think you have lots of options for screening in the report and I don't recommend to delete messages also.

See this SAP KBA as although it's for a different report it does have some actions for FEHLER table in cluster B2 and might be of use.
