How to get just the relevant new stuff from SCN?

It could be just me but especially lately trying to get just the new content that is relevant to my personal interests seems to be mission impossible on SCN. Part of the problem is that my interests are quite diverse, so following just one space doesn't cut it (and it drowns an unsuspecting follower in irrelevant emails). Even ABAP related content is spread over a good dozen of spaces, not to mention SD, MM, FI, About SCN, etc.

So far I've been trying to scan the blog roll daily, but now it's just not an option and if I miss a couple of days then the list becomes unmanageable. An experience with setting up an RSS feed for it in Outlook has been a huge disappointment. It sorts the blogs by the 'last activity' (I need it by creation date) and also shows just the header and author, but I'd also need to see what space is the blog from.

I wouldn't want to use Facebook or Twitter for this purpose, but if there is some other site or program that is safe to use at work I'd totally be willing to try. Mostly I'd be interested in the new blogs, but if there is some option for documents or discussions that'd be awesome.

The activity feed is perhaps your best bet for this.  You're probably already using it to follow spaces, people or specific content. It takes some work to get it right so that when it get to be too much, you select to hide single items or, lets say, all discussion in a particular space (blog posts and document will still appear):

Personally, I use a combination of the activity feed and communications inbox: the latter for things and people I don't want to miss.

Regarding RSS, have a look at to see all feeds available.  You can also get a feed for specific tags: http://scn.sap.com/community/feeds/tags/[TAG]

Speaking of tags, Google Alerts is another way to get regular e-mail updates of URLs where a keyword is used.  You can limit the results to SCN by including site:scn.sap.com in the query.

Do you use Flipboard? Check out The SCNetizen.
