I'm new to ABAP programming and I'm trying to find a catalog or catalogs of standard ABAP modules and their documentation. Where do I find it?
One particular module I'm interested in is "TABLE_ENTRIES_GET_VIA_RFC".
hi,
in Se37 - you have the push button called Function Module documentation, from that only we can view the document.
in this TABLE_ENTRIES_GET_VIA_RFC its disabled ( i thing there is no documentaion for this fm)
cheers,
sasi

welcome to SDN.
not all Function modules will have documentation.
one way to find out how to use a particular function is the do a where used list and see how it is used.
are you looking to read table entries thru a FM?
there is a better FM
RFC_READ_TABLE

Thanks. I appreciate the answer. It seems really crude. I would expect there to be some place where SAP would list all the "standard" ABAP modules and provide human readable documentation. Is there anything similar to IDL? You can find examples of how various ABAP modules are used, but they are clearly not comprehensive.
Hi
I'm sorry but I don't think, if you are lucky you should find some documentations out of SAP.
There are site like this:
http://www.sapgenie.com/abap/functions.htm
but you can often find only a list with the main fm.
