Dear all,
we face a strange issue: if we upload any files to KM and they have no file extension, downloading of them one delivers an encoded URL/filename. If we gave this file an extension, this doesnt occur. Anybody has an idea why this happens and how to avoid this? We are on EP 7.31 SP5. Thank you,
regards
Hi Lawrence,
I think your problem is because the files don't have an extension so the Portal can't figure out how to deal with them. You can view and modify the Mime types under System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Content Management -> Utilities - > Mime Types
Hope it helps. Regards
Diego

Hi Diego,
thanks, I saw already the maintanace of MIME types in CM config and we did pay some attention to it. But our use case is lack of extensions of KM resources. Our end user have also access to KM repositories, we have to deal with operating errors by front end user.
So my question is still open. The strange thing about this is: the URL generation should work identical for both cases, why its generating encoded URLs for files without extension/MIME type and can we take influence on this? Could you throw some light on this? Thank you,
regards
