Hello, I have a question. I need to enhance 2LIS_11_VAHDR extractor ok and I know that I will have to delete and fill up setup tables for all extractors present in 11 application component. ok, so, when I do the fill up of setup tables, would I also have to do init for ALL the data flows that are connected to ALL extractors under 11 application component?

Hi,

Please understand that setup tables are application specific and not datasource specific.

Whereas in Delta queue you get the datasource specific information.

So as per your requirement you are enhancing 2LIS_!1_VAHDR,you need to init this datasource only and no need to touch other datasources.

Thanks for your feed back. so i have one more final question. My data flow is that there is a Write Optimized DSO as my first layer ok, then i have a standard DSO and then cube.  Would I need to delete data from these 2 DSOs and the cube or JUST the cube. 

These are the steps I will do when I am ready to move this to QA.  Please tell me if this is okay.

Run the V3 job and make sure nothing is in LBWQ queue remains then I will run my delta infopackage ONLY for 2LIS_11_VAHDR to bring data into BW then move my transport to QA then I will delete the init on BW side only for HDR datasource ONLY and then do the init without data transfer.  Fill up SETUP tables and then do a FULL repair.

Hi Venkat,

For DSO you can delete or leave it. they can over write. But coming memory issues its better delete them. because again your loading historical data. better drop  data at 2 DSO and cube also.

First do this things at production.

1. if possible lock ecc tcodes related to your data source base tables entry screen

2. Clear SMQ1/LBWQ/SM!3 by scheduling V3 jobs.

3. Clear RSA7 by running respective delta info pack. move data to further.

Once done above steps.  Move your changes to production

Carry out init only for the specific datasource "2LIS_11_VAHDR " for which you are going for.

Regardin setup tables filling , i guess you already know.

I agree with the others you only need to do a new init for your 2lis_11_VAHDR.

BUT as you rebuild setuptables you fill all 11 setuptables. Therefore your queues on lbwq/rsa7 need to be empty otherwise building the setup tables it will tell you structure still holds data.

If the queues of 2lis_11_VAHDR are not empty you'll get duplicate records.

Dear Venkat,

You don't require to reinit other data sources of the component 11 if you ar doing change for one particular data source of that application. REINIT is required only fo rthe data source which has been changed.

Also you need to clear the delta queues before any changes are moved to production so that delta is not missed. Clearing delta means moving all data from delta queue to the BW system.

No and never. Init always do respective/connected info pack of data source.

Init is related to info package level only.Init just enables delta mechanism to respective info package only.

As you need enhance your data source and check the data validation at RSA3. once you got data replicating and further steps seems like your familiar.

Once data flow was into prod 2LIS_!1_VAHDR - respective info pack need to reinit. because structure was changed. you can do reinit at connected info pack --> scheduler --> init options for source system.

if you want historical data for added field then delete and refill of setup tables are needed.

When we load info pack update method as full or init with data transfer for LO Data sources it pulls data from Setup tables only.

When ever reinit was success then we can see our data source at RAS7 till that time we won't.
