Project problems

I have a very strange problem. I have an infoobject called 0PROJECT. the properties for it are set for Masterdata/Texts. Under Text it has Meidum Length text exists is checked. When I run a query, it shows the right description for some of the projects and others it does not show the description but shows the KEY, I thought may be there is no description for the projects showing KEY in the T table but i was wrong. I am not sure where the problem is. if it was an issue with the infoobject, it would have showed NO description at all. I already checked the infoobject display setting in BEX query designer and it is set for Medium. does any one know what may be wrong with this?

Thanks.

    Hi,

Please check if short and medium text both are maintained for those keys which are not displaying text.Try maintaining the same and see if that works.

Also for those keys its diplaying text can you confirm if short or medium both texts are maintained.

    Regards,

    AL

    Hi Venkat,

at info object level check for particular project have text(med and short) or not. if not then need to source.

check at ECC side at TX - RSA3 whether its have text for respective project or not. if not then ask source team and maintain it. other at bw side info object level you can maintain time being.

as i know where there is no text, default it shows key only. your info object may be missing some text for some projects. check and make the needed things.

    Thanks

You should maintain Short and medium texts in the infoobject definition. You should also tick "With Texts" in the Master data tab.

Get into Maintain Master data of that infoobject and check for this object. If the desciprion is not maintained, you can maintain them directly in BW. You need not to pull from EC again. This is the fastest and simplest.

    Dear Venkat,

Check 1 :- Check if the medium description for the Project which is showing key is same as that of the Key (which is the most probable chance in this cenarion).

Check 2 :- If the Medium description of these projects are not there in the BW system you need to maintain them.

Check 3 :- In the Query display check th eproperty of the info object display. It should be text and not key.

Apart from these options and the optiones mentioned in above posts if your problem does not get resolved then you might need to raise OSS message to SAP.

    Regards

    Hi

Reload the data for 0PROJECT_TEXT. It shows you the key when the text is missing.

Then go manage 0PORJECT display the data type in a project you only see the key in BEx and check if you see the text now in the backend.

    hope it helps

    Martin
