Dear Basis,

Check with your System/Network admin team as they might have changed SAN or LUN volume area if any .

Secondly.try rebooting the server and check.

Third -Work Directory traces ,windows log and database -SID.log

Hi,

For resolving this issue you need OS level access to check what could be the issue and what is current status of SAP ?

Thanks

Hello

Go to the work directory (/usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGS<No>/work) and check the dev_w0 trace file.

Also check the latest trace file in the work directory when you get this issue.

Hi ,

We need to get the logs dev_W*, dev_ms,dev_disp to come to a conclusion to check why the issue is there.

Please also check database logs

Open a session with the server, so that you can execute SQL commnands via "Sybase SQL Query". From your PC, Run either isql (character) or DBISQL (GUI); they are both on the Sybase PC Installation CD, you can also download them free.

  1. Devices ("Data File Paths"😞sp_helpdevice
    go
There are many Databases per server. There are many Devices per server. You will have to figure out (a) which Devices contain the Database you are interested in (b) Data Devices vs Log Devices.sp_helpdb
    go
  2. Log Devices ("Database Transaction Log File Path")(same as (1) )

Hi ,

Please get the dba involved to check the database log status. I guess it shall be full and request them to initiate backup.

Hope this helps.

HI,

Is some one else able to login.

Do you see any issues in the os level log.

Please run dpmon pf=instance profile and check if any work process is in waiting phase.

Is you archive log backup running and is not full.

Thanks

Since this is happening for all your systems, I would strongly suspect a network/firewall problem.  Can you ping the server(s)?  But you really need to get with a network admin at your site.
