Role import - profile name not populated

I've recently handling the task of importing back-end roles into GRC system in NWBC.

1) I set up two roles in GRC plugin system and did import of them in GRC role import without running any sync program . I could successfully uploaded the roles into GRC. I was under the impression role synch job is mandate as prerequisite to this process , but isn't true?

2) How role type is being identified by GRC system that I'm importing (no synch job is running) either single/derived /etc? is this role import option directly contacting GRC plugin system through RFC?

3) Profile name is not getting populated in after my successful role import? what could be the possible causes?
