Hi Selva,

1.) Via MM we can do all types of stock transfer with stock in transit facility(duration is involved-sending, receiving at different locations), transport charges adding to the receiving plant material cost.

2.) Wherever 2 cities are involved between 2 plants, and in case of excisable stock you have to accompany the stocks with excisable invoice to generate the same we have to have the SD route.

3.) In case of Intercompany stock transfers we have to go via SD route only, because 2 different business units are involved and selling, buying is taken place.

Hi Selva,

In STO there are two type  1.one with  Outbound Delivery (SD Route)  2. without Outbound Delivery (MM route)

with Delivery-  internal stock  tansfer order -delivery - picking - good issue- goods receipt- stock over view

without Delivery- stock transfer order - good issue- goods receipt - stock overview

If you are working with the stock transfer procedure with LE outbound delivery (SD route), this has the advantage that the shipping activities can be processed with the R/3 System (picking, packing, printing the delivery note, and so on).

This has advantage of control function since dispatch department can control the material shipping out of the company.
