Member deletion

We are deleing a member from dimension, since it is not used and does not have data in production.

But when we deleted it seen that some of the report using the dimension member is not generating any value in report for any of other member and with warning message that this member is no more available.

Is there any steps to be followed while deleting the dimension members like deleting from BW first using SE16 tables then delete in BPC?

Appreciate sharing your experience, thoughts.

Hi,

If you are deleting any member of a dimension that exist in any static report or input form, you have to manually remove them from the report or input form.

Hi,

Are you talking about the info objects inside the info cube's dimension? If yes, was the info cube activated successfully. Normally in such scenarios when a member of a dimension is removed, it runs into issues. You have to also manually remove from the dimension table if automatically it is not removed. Lastly, if still doesn't work then you have to try to reconstruct the table but with senior expertise for it.
