Dual Relationship - Leave Request

Hi,

I copied the standard leave request workflow to create custom one. Here the scenario is of employee reporting to two heads.

If first approver does not approve the request in 3 days it will goes to next approver. As per the scenario the request goes to next approver if it is not approved within 3 days (using Latest end, Modelled for activity).

But the problem is work item not getting deleted from the work list of the first approver. I tried with inserting process control step for latest end with function Cancel Work Item / Set Work Item to Obsolete, but no success.

Please suggest,

Thanks & regards,.

    Hi Paveen,

If it is appearing in both managers inbox might be both of them are agents for the task.Check the agent of the task in SWIA transaction and SAP_WAPI_FORWARD_WORKITEM to forward the workitem another approver.

    Regards,

    G'day Praveen,

Firstly I'd question the desire to take it away from the first manager. In the end the ultimate desire is to have a decision made. If the first manager comes back on the 4th day, why stop them making the decision? In general terms at a deadline point you are better off increasing the number of potential agents rather than just changing which agents can action it.

That aside, in your Latest End path you should only have the process control step to mark the previous step as Obsolete. The new work item that you send to the new agents must appear under the 'Obsolete' path. The only other thing you might have in the Latest End path is a container operation to set a flag if it's useful to know later in the process that the deadline occurred.

Modelled the Latest End path is just a funny little bit dangling off the step. It's only purpose is to send the WF back to the step with the deadline and instead come down the obsolete path which then has the follow on process modelled.

Hmm, that's far from a clear explanation... oh well, hopefully it helps.

    Have fun,

    Mark
