Launch Processes from HRPAO_PAOM_MASTERDATA

Hi gurus,

Is there any chance to launch Processes (application ASR_PROCESS_EXECUTE_OVP) from HRPAO launchpad?.

What we want to get is one unique point of access to do Personnel Administration, like updating infotypes, but also we want to do i.e Leaving Actions when an employee is selected in HRPAO_PAOM_MASTERDATA application.

My first idea was to customize new application on launchpad (role HRPAO instance actions) setting as application: ASR_PROCESS_EXECUTE_OVP and OTYPE=P&PROCESS=ZTPR_REHIRE_SUBS as Target application parameters, but I'm getting a super dump and it seems OTYPE=P is not supported, only S,C and O.

Yes. It is possible. But you would have to it using application together withd sap-wd-configId=HRPAO_PAOM_MASTERDATA.

There are some standard process that are already delivered which be initiated they way you wish to.

In fact I'm noticing if I set ASR_PROCESS_EXECUTE_OVP application and ASR_PROCESS_EXECUTE_OVP_CFG configuration I'm getting the same result, I don't know the difference between applications.

Could you explain me some tips about that?

Hello Alfonso,

We are trying to execute HCM Process and forms through the HRPAO Actions Launchpad using the HRPAO_PAOM_MASTERDATA application.  We have done the launchpad settings and able to launch the form through the context menu.  

The problem we are seeing is that the toolbar shows up standard SAVE and CANCEL button on the header which is being pulled from HRPAO_PAOM_MASTERDATA application.  Whereas if we launch the form via the HRASR_DT application, we see the standard CHECK and SEND button.  We have written events on the check and send buttons.  Could you please let us know how you fixed the issue

Hi karan,

I Don't know what is your issue. As far as I know those buttons have similar backend behaviour.

Save button performs a first check of data consistency and then performs a save in database if everything is ok in the form. Two actions happens in the same execution.

CHeck button only performs a data check, without any save., Send button performs save data to databAse, or triggers workflow, etc.

HOpe this clarify your doubts

The header that is displayed using the HRPAO master data application is standard header when we try launching any of the infotypes from context menu.  What we need is to basically skip the standard header and launch the form that looks like HRASR_DT with the check and send buttons.  The SAVE button on the HRPAO application is leading to dumps when we SAVE the form.  But the process works fine when we launch it via HRASR_DT. 

If we can open up an external portal window which launches the SR_PROCESS_EXECUTE_OVP application with the process and for the specified pernr, that should be the best way to get this working.  But the Launchpad entries for External portal window doesnt seam to work.

HI,

it would be interesting to analyze dumps that you mention in your previous message. I'll try to help you in order you can use HRPAO master data which in my opinion is the best way to launch employee processes.

anyway, there is another launchpad role HRASR* that you can try to see if this role fits your requirements.

Hi Experts ,

I was reading this particular thread and got some ideology of forms and processes .

I am in LPD_CUST and i find HRPAO ---> Actions_IN-----> Actions for India .

Under this i am able to find out these many services given by SAP

Once we copied the HRPAO role to ZHRPAO role in LPD_CUST i am not able the same in portal .

Please do advise on the same. DO we have any of the standard roles which needs to be assigned to the user?
