Mapping dataSource to InfoSource (BI 7.0)

Former Member

Dear Experts,

I am implementing Costing-Based CO-PA and  have created the datasource.

the standard cube(0COPA_C01) has activcated as well.

When I am trying to do transformation from datasource to infosource,

I think it should auto create the mapping infoobject, but it doesn't....

Do I need to key in or create the everyone mapping infobject manually? (I don't think it should be do this way >"<)

Please kindly help me how to solve this problem..

Thanks a lot.

Ella

Hi Ella,

Automatically not happens. because COPA is custom generated data source. You need to map manually.  if your confused to map, then you can use table which can help you out to map ecc field to bw object.

you can check at bw side , Table - RSOSFIELDMAP

, enter your data source name and execute. it will display the table content. see the columns field name and bw object names respectively.

Thanks

Hi Raman,

Thanks a lot.   I see, so that's how it is.. : )

but I have check table-RSOSFIELDMAP, there doesn't exist the datasource I created..

Why is it that?

Hi Ella,

After creating the data source at ecc side. Have you replicated into BW side?

if not, replicate data source into bw side and make it active version.

Then you check at bw server table.

Log into bw server, Tx - SE11, enter table name - RSOSFIELDMAP, click Contents icon,

next screen,  OLTPSOURCE - pass your data source name(1_CO_PA_XXXX), execute it. you will get.

if your new, take any of your colleague ask him how to check tables data.

Ella you can also use Tx CTBW_META to generate the objects based on your datasource

hope that helps

Hi Raman,

I  did replicated into BW side,

though I have created InfoPackage, InfoSource(mapping the InfoObject manually),

and InfoCube( right click and choose display data, it can show data correctly),

I still could not find my DataSource name(1_CO_PA_XXXX) in table-RSOSFIELDMAP,

even the DataSource created by BI consultant previously, it still not exist in this table, it's werid..

Hi Ella,

What ever data sources we create in out environment those will store at that table.

Please share the screen shot of your table.

Have you done like this way:

Log into BW server, T code - SE11

Table - RSOSFIELDMAP, click on display, next Click on content icon, on next screen, give OLTPSOURCE - data source name, click on execute or number entries.

pls share the screen shot.

Thanks

hi ella,

thanks for reply. yes its saying doesn't exit.

you have any custom data source(created by your/ bw team) on your bw server?  if yes then check for that data source also. whether its shows record or not.

if not then for custom data source it won't show at above table.

Thank You ella.

Hi Ella,

I think you need to create all the infoobjects manually

Check out this thread here they have discussed the same issue and listed out the name of few infoobjects. In case it matches with your COPA fields then you may use it,

Thank you too ella.

its cleared from this. custom based data source doesn't exist at table - RSOSFIELDMAP.

You can close the thread by choosing assumed answer.

Thank you

Hello Ella,

As Ramanjaneyulu mentioned, this (COPA Data Source) is not standard data source. As it is not a standard data source, the transformation mappings wont be available by default. Because, all the Info Objects available in your 0COPA_C10 cube wont match exactly with your COPA data source fields (as it is, means COPA data source created by yourself according to your reporting requirement).

So, you need to do transformation mappings manually for COPA. Because all the Standard Info Objects which are available in your cube (0COPA_C10) may not match most of the times, so in this case, we need to create Custom Info Objects and Map accordingly.

If it is a standard data source, when you create transformation between Standard data source and standard Info Cube then the transformations mappings will be done automatically.

If require, check your COPA data source field's in the RSOSFIELDMAP table to find out the Standard relevant Info Objects available in BW. OR else as mentioned create custom info objects and map manually.

Thanks,

Venu

Hi

I agree with Raman you need to create the mapping manually. COPA is different with every customer as you generate the datasource yourself based on the operating concern. SAP can't provide that as a content.

The mapping is a little effort but not you can use RSOSFIELDMAP with your 1CO* DS and it guides you what infoobject to map with what field

hope it helps

Hi Ella,

When you install the cube from Business content then you will get all the flow and mapping upto info source.

As COPA Data source has to be created manually in OLTP system specific to one's requirement. The mapping between the data source and info source is not delivered with Business Content.

Please refer

Hi Ella,

If you have standard transformation available from BI content for that cube and you have chose data flow before keeping cube as top level object then the mapping should happen automatically.

In case standard transformation is not available then i am afraid you need to map them manually.

Hope it helps.

Hi Anshu Lihori,

Thanks for your reply.

Sorry,  I'm a beginner at BI , and I don't understand the meaning of these two words..

" standard transformation available from BI content for that cube and you have chose data flow before keeping cube as top level object"

Could you explain it more detail?  Thank you very much.

Hi

You focus on the wrong part of his answer that is not relevant in your case as COPA has no such thing as content..

Hi Ella,

As said by others--Copa are custom generated datasources so SAP has not delivered any Business content for it.

You have not left with any option other than mapping it manually..

As raman said to get the relevant infoobject for those fields you can check in table

RSOSFIELDMAP---Give the Fieldname in FIELDNM then you may get standard infoobject if available.

If not then you need to create it on your own.
