Bar Code is not getting printed

Hi Basis Expert,

We migrated the system from one datacenter to another datacenter.

After the migration we are facing some issues with related to the printers (output devices).

The issue is the barcode is not getting printed from the output device.

In SAP in SPAD we have output device by name - XXXX (in uppercase letter) whereas in the Access method tab we have host printer by name - yyyy (in lower case) and in the device type the entry is ZPOSTSCR-Post Script Printer.

The printer model is HP Laser jet.

As per the Unix Team the relevant drivers are installed and configured at OS level.

Appreciate your help on this.

Regards,

Anil Shenoy

Hello

Check whether the print queues are defined properly at the OS level.

Is possible check whether the print queue is created in the same way like it was on the old server.

Hi Benjamin and All,

Thanks for the reply.

We did check with our Unix Team and it seems the printers are configured and installed properly.

Also we reinstalled all the drivers from Unix level. After reinstallation we tested the print from Unix level and it was scucessful and from SAP the spool request number is completed.

The printers are HP laser jet 4250

Also in SPAD ->  the entry in the device type is ZPOSTSCR-Post Script Printer.

But this issue still exists.

Appreciate your inputs and guidance.

Hi All,

Thanks for your response

It was an data center migration and there was no OS and its version changed.

The printer model is HP Laser Jet 4250dnt, mod. #Q5400A.

Also in SPAD ->  the entry in the device type is ZPOSTSCR-Post Script Printer.

Here is what we get when we try to give test print of SM51 "Could not determine a suitable format".

Hi Anil,

So the scenario here is you shifted the physical server from 1 DC to another DC.

If in SPAD what is the access method defined. I guess it should be some remote host defined.

Please check connection to that remote host .

Hope this helps.

Hi Anil,

Which method of migration did you follow ?

Have you adjusted the SPAD entries post migration ?

Thanks Deepak for you reply

It is an datacenter migration.

The same was working before the migration but after the migration it is not working.

The users says that the barcode is not getting printed.

Hi Anil,

Have you checked the spool queue?

What is the status of the spool request?
