Where does NWBC Desktop store last used sap-client and sap-user

I have noticed that when I logon to NWBC Desktop, the sap-cleint= and sap-user= query string parameters are passed to the ABAP AS as the last used user id and password. I am wondering where NWBC stores this information ?

    Hello Tim,

Check C:\Users\<UserID>\AppData\Roaming\SAP\NWBC\NwbcOptions.xml (under Win7). This is where NWBC stores the system connections set up by the users on the local desktop.

To make a test, check after setting up a system connection (before logging in), and check again after logging in.

    Best regards

    • Thank you. This is what I needed. The xml file contains each system that is configured and there is a <user>user id</user> entry which includes the user id last used. If I remove this from the xml file, when I logon again the sap-user query string parameter is not added during the logon.

That's weird. I just launched NWBC Desktop 4.0 PL9 with Fiddler in the background. I logoned to AS ABAP and launched a Web Dynpro. I can't see sap-user in any of the requests sent to AS ABAP. Do you have cookies disabled? Anyway, I don't know the answer to your question. My guess would be the NWBC Cache which you can clear and see if it makes a difference (press Ctrl while clicking on the left top corner then go to Help -> Extended Supportability -> Clean-up -> Delete NWBC Cache).

    • We have found that if you logon to a system using NWBC Desktop (both with 4.0 and 3.5 versions), when you log off and then later launch NWBC Desktop, you are logged onto the same system that you last logged onto and this is when sap-client and sap-user are found in the URL. We see this using Fiddler2.

I tried to delete the Cache directory/files using Explorer and when I start NWBC the same user and client and system are used, so it seems that it has stored this information somewhere. We are trying to find out where it is stored.

      Thanks,

      TIm
