EHP6 error,PREP_IMPORT/TOOLIMPD

Dear,

     The EHP6 upgrade is in PREP_IMPORT/TOOLIMPD showing status in running only for last 2 hours,is it error or it will take this much time.

hello Ish,

From the past 10 Ehp 6 upgrades I can see this phase is finishing in close to 2 Mints (may be the hardware is slightly powerful).

I suggest you to check the status in logs SAPupConsole, SAPup and also activities in system.

It can be a reason that some dead locks are stopping this phase. After looking the said ones, you may restart the phase again.

Hello Ish,

Am suspecting that it could related to dead locks. I request to check the logs that I have mentioned. You can also check the latest logs that are generated during this phase which you can find n in <Check the file path in your system>\SUM\ABAP\Log.

Hi,

Please post more details or the log which it cancelled from the SUM log direcory.

What's the current tp tool as this phase just check the tp tool and get some details.

Please check there is not error log in the trans directory.

Like:

Running /usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGSXX/exe/tp pf=/DIR_PUT/SUM/abap/var/DEFAULT.TPP checkimpdp SID

Running /usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGSXX/exe/tp pf=/DIR_PUT/SUM/abap/var/TOOLIMPD.TPP put SID

Analyzing result of tp call ...

Running /usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGSXX/exe/tp pf=/DIR_PUT/SUM/abap/var/DEFAULT.TPP getconvent SID

Please check the TP in your kernel directory.

Hi,

Please also le us know the os as there was an issue with the tp tool for IBMi.

Note 1432548 - IBM i: TP hangs in phase TOOLIMPD during upgrade or EHPI

Try to patch the latest tp tool and retry .
