Inactive Field RFC Connection in BI Analytics

Hello SAP Guru,

I am trying to activate BW based reporting in SOLMAN_WORKCENTER, but the RFC Destination Field from BW to SOLMAN is inactive. Moreover, the BI Content Activation is already done without having this RFC destination.

That's why a couple of errors occur, the first of which is: 'Cannot read destination from BI to Solution Manager'.

Has anyone an idea how to reset the RFC destination fields, so the target could be entered again?

hi,

you can do this anytime by using solman_setup.

Tcode solman_setup -> Basic configuration -> step 2.2 specify SAP Bw system, here you can define,

whether you want to connect solman bw ( basically RFC destination as NONE) or any other bw system.

Please check.

Thanks for your reply. Here are the status of different substep of Step 2

At Step 2 (Specify user and Connectivity Data), I have a red light.

• Step 2.1 (Specify Data Connectivity) is gray
• Step 2.2 (Specify BW System) is green
  • At this Step I have check the option "Use standard SAP Solution Manager BW Environment"
• Step 2.3 (Set Up Credentials) ist red
• Step 2.4 (Create Users) is gray
• Step 2.5 (Solution Manager Internal Connectivity) is red.

It's mean that, the Basic Configuration of SAP Solution Manager is not complete OK

At Step 2.2 (Specify SAP BW System)

• If i check the option button "Use SAP BW in separate System or separate SAP Solution Manager Client".
  • In this case schould i have the same version of SAP Components BI_CONT and ST-BCO in SAP Solution Manager and in SAP BW?

In SOLMAN_WORKCENTER the Fields for RFC Destination are still inactive. Consequently I can no activate the BI based reporting.
