SAP HANA Studio setup:

Former Member

In Startup Focus Course 201, I am INSTALLING SAP HANA COMPONENTS, by following "Hands on HANA - An Installation Tutorial". The first six steps are fine. However, at step 7, after start HANA Studio and arrive at the Administrative Console view or perspective, the Navigator panel does not show up. Hence, I could not add system. Thank you in advance for a quick help.

Thank you for the info.

I am watching the HANA Academy - Installing the SAP HANA Studio and SAP HANA Client tools, on YouTube, as you suggested.

However, login is required to access SAP Support Portal, to download the software for the installation. Now comes two questions:

  • Can a SAP Startup Focus member download the software for the installation of HANA Studio, Client, and SAPcar somewhere without the need of this registration?

A quick response is highly appreciated!

I cannot answer your question regarding the Startup Focus (are you working for a Startup Focus member?), but the HANA Studio and Client are available for download here on the Developer Center. Just click the SAP HANA Developer Center link at the top of the page, and you'll see the options for a free trial and the HANA developer edition. Alternatively, just follow this link and you can select the version you want to download: https://hanadeveditionsapicl.hana.ondemand.com/hanadevedition/.

Hi Lu,

You can not register SAP Service Marketplace without customer information, generally, the customer needs to purchase related SAP product.

Besdies, you can download SAP HANA Studio and client, they are free now, you can download the latest revision for them from Myles's mention link.

The answers, for SAP STARTUP FOCUS member (http://training.startups.saphana.com/😞

  1. in Course 201 - Installing SAP HANA Components, find Expert's Tip (in a box highlighted with white color) which says: "The best and most enduring resource for engineers who need to establish a development environment is this blog, posted in the SAP HANA Developer Center on SCN.  Follow the blog carefully ..."
  2. click that "this blog", you come to Get your own SAP HANA, developer edition on Amazon Web Services (http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-28294), follow Part 3 - Download and install SAP HANA Studio and SAP HANA Client;
  3. start the SAP HANA Studio that is installed at your computer, open the Navigator panel by going to the tool bar option Window -> Show View -> Navigator.

Further question

I tried to add system by following "Get your own SAP HANA, developer edition on Amazon Web Services" "Part 4 - Connect to your SAP HANA, developer edition server on AWS" (http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-28294). Supposingly, at last, "Click "Finish", wait to the system connection to appear in you Navigator panel with a green status icon and you are officially done!

  • However, occasionally this works, but soon lost the connection.
  • I tried to delete this system that lost connection and then add system, several time, but ended up with an error message: "The system is not reachable, the login data could not be considered."

How to solve this issue? Your quick help is highly appreciated!
