I have a char in the cube which i assigned to one dimesion. In reporting i dont want my power user to perform anything on that char...like creating variable. It should act like display attribute..Hope i am clear

might be u need to create authorization for that infoobject. refer to the below discussion in sdn. hope it will help u.
