Assignment of component of Alternative BOM 2 to general task list

Hi Experts,

Please suggest how to handle assignment of Alternative BOM 2 component to general task list.

Below is the steps followed.

1. Material BOM is created for Material MMMMMM with Component XXXXXXX and YYYYYYY

2. For Same Material MMMMMM an alternative BOM 2 is created with component AAAAAA and BBBBBB

Is it possible to assign Alternative BOM 2 to general task list ? If Yes Please can you explian the steps to be followed.

No you cannot assign those components.

As far as I am aware, alternative BOMs can't be used in PM.

Anyone know different?

I agree with pete Atkin, There is no need to maintain alternative BOM in PM rather it is used in PP for the production of FG of SFG.
