Concept & Usage of Release Creation Profile in Scheduling Agreements?

Hi SAP Experts ,

I would like to understand the following aspects as mentioned below in context of " release  creation profile " in the process of creation of scheduling agreement ?

1.) concept and why it is used in scheduling agreements ?

2.) how it is used in scheduling agreements in SAP ?

HI Sanket,

Release Creation profile is the one which actually makes the difference between JIT schedule and Forecast delivery schedule. IF you don't assign any release creation profile to the scheduling agreement then there is no difference between JIT & forecast delivery schedule. This Can be understand in print out of messages LPJ1 & LPH1 for same schedule lines. It also controls which schedules lines are to be sent in which type of release. Ex. only NEw, changed, next date etc.

Create release creation profile with below details in aggregation tab.

Daily Aggregation 4>>7>>>>>>3>>5

Weekly aggregation(blank)>>>>6>>30 (Not possible with JIT)

Ex. In ME38 maintain schedule lines as below

Generate JIT & forecast release without assigning any release creation profile.

Result: All schedule lines will be sent as maintained above.

Now assign Release creation profile & generate both JIT & forecast

note: the above is approx guess may not be same depends on working days

Here system will not consider the remaining schedule lines after 7th day in JIT or 180th day  in forecast day from today as maintained in creation profile(release horizon: total work days).
