Create Trip Types

Hello Professionals,

My company has a requirement where they have 2 types of trips
Business Trip and Training trip.  We have
created 2 different Variants for these trips. Now how do we record these trips separately?
For example, when I go to transaction code “TRIP” how will I set up and show if
it’s a Business Trip or Training trip.

As Sally Redmond suggested, you can create two trip schema's (not trip variants - as mentioned in your query) IF your requirement is to have different expense types/per diems etc based on the activity (i.e. business/ training etc) for the trip. However if there are same expense types for both types of activities and your requirement is to simply capture the type of trip then I would suggest you to use 'Trip Activity Types' for this. See screenshot below where you can configure different trip activity types for your trip variant.

Hope this helps

Hello,

As per my suggestion instead of creating two trip variants. You should go for two trip Schemas.

When the trip becomes an expense report (e.g. PR05) here you can define a schema and they can be selected in the dropdown when creating the expense report. (The travel request only ever uses schema PL - whereas PR05 can use whichever schemas you create!)
