Business system in SLD

Hello every one..

I have a basic question as i'm learning XI 3.0

Do we need to create two business systems in SLD while we are creating interface bitween SAP and legacy system.

Two biz systems

1)With business system role as Integration server.

2)business system role as Apllication system.

Can any one help me understanding the concept..

You have to use 2 services (Business system in SLD for application system).

Business System for role as Integration server has to be there.

Not to confuse you more you will have 3 business system in SLD.

2 for the target and source system as a role of application syetem and one for XI integration server.

Suppose if i create business sustems like..

B01-SAP(application)

B02-WAS (I.server)

B03-Legacy

1)Do i need to import all the 3 systems in ID?

2)to which business system do i need to create communication channels?

I'm bit confused here....

Lets say B01-SAP(application)is Sender

and B03-Legacy is target.

You import these two BS and start configuring.

1) Bus Syst role Appl Sys type WAS for SAP

2) Bus Syst role Appl Sys type third party for legacy sys

3) Bus Syst role Integr Serv type WAS for XI
