Wrong Asset Value Date

Hi All,

There has been a WBS settlement through CJ8G. In the Asset explorer the asset shows a asset value date of 31-03-13. This could have been either manually entered or the system might have picked up the SAP default set in the config.

The asset has been capitalized on 01-03-13. Ideally the asset value date should be 01-03-13.

We can roll back the depreciation which is calculated from 31-03-13 but is it possible to get the asset value date changed in the system and run settlement again.

Thanks

Regards,

Jimmy

    Hi,

According to me, an entry field is available in the T-Code CJ8G for the asset value date. Now if the user enters that date then asset valeu date will be the date entered by user but User doesn't enter any value date then SAP has provided standard dates to be asset value date so then system will take such date which is posting date of the Transaction. I think the date entered in the KO8G will supersede the default date. So kindly reverse the settlement and try to again settle the WBS element using Asset Value date as 01.03.2013.

    Regards,

    Malhar.

Hi - please check your config in activity Valuation > Transactions > Specify How Default Asset Value Date is Determined. You can determine the rule you want for that particular transaction.
