Blocking Purchase Requisition line items

Hi,

I have a requirement for blocking PR line items in transactions ME52N,M253N and ME54N and after that a mail should be triggered to the PR creaotor. If the user is blocking one line item, then all the other line items should be blocked on SAVE. I tried using BADIs ME_REQ_POSTED and ME_PROCESS_REQ_CUST but unable to block all line items. Please help to resolve this.

What is the requirement to block rest of the PR line items when one line item is blocked by a user?

Recheck the requirement with your client once again.

I am not sue abt the auto blocking of PR line item at save. But, you can very well populate an error message if any of the pr line item is not blocked as per your requirement with the said badi. Ensure your old purchase requisitions will not get impacted with the badi implementation.

    Hi,

Configure release strategy for PR at header level. Make the relase indicator as "Changeable, but new release will be triggered". So once the user change any one line item to blocked, the release will be triggered and the entire PR will be blocked, since its header level release.

    Hope its helpful.

    Regards,

    Hi Archana,

Mail triggering to PR creator can be easily achieved via abap development. but i am not too sure about your second requirement to block all the line items of a PR if a line item is blocked. you may want to discuss with business to have a re-look at the requirement. this will only increase the Purchasing costs and delay in material procurement.

If still required, one thing can be done is to develop a customised PR updation program. the program can be scheduled as per requirement, either daily or weekly or like that. the program will check the PRs created within a certain date range and check the block indicator in the PR line item. if it founds that in any line item then it should update all the remaining line items also.

    Regards,

I think you can use ENQUEUE_EMEBANE and DEQUEUE_EMEBANE to lock and unlock PR's.

    Hi All,

Thank you for all the replies. The issue is solved. BADIs did not work for my requirement, so i wrote an enhancement during SAVE.
