Business Partners and PPM Integration

Former Member

Hello,

We do have SAP HR Implemented and currently using PPM Partially (Portfolio and no cProjects). In next Phase we plan to use cProjects with resource planning etc. Below are

  1. As HR is already in place and with Activating HR Integration (config), Any change to HR master will automatically create a Business Partner. Which works with standard activation. Is there any setting or place where i can restrict the BP Creation through employee. Basically i do not want all employees to be a BP. Any clue or help would be greatly appreciated....
  2. On the side I did create Business partners through transaction "BP", but they don't show up in cProjects (while assigning resource in cProjects). Is this due to HR Integration.Any clue or help would be greatly appreciated....

Any clue why Business partner created through BP doesn't show. Advance thanks

Our PPM is installed on ECC where HR is also maintained.

When we run HR_SYNC_PERSON its getting the BANK INFO and Some other sensitive information. we want to control this.

We looked at BD64 distribution model.

where do we control this so that we dont see the BP updated with sensitive information.

Raj

Hi Raj,

We know that you are very desperate to get the answers but why are you posting the same comments again & again (that to 5 times)? As a SCN member you are not supposed to do this.. by this you are simply irritating the other SCN members.

To answer your question..

HR integration is activated in the below customising table (T77S0)

SPRO Path-

SPRO-->Personnel Management-->Personnel Administration-->Interfaces and Integration-->Integration with SAP Business Partner-->

and following entries are made in the group "HRALX"

If you switch-off HRALX-HRAC & PBPHR, the integration will be deactivated.

Once this is deactivated, you can create BP's manually in 'BP' tcode for both employees and external resources.

Note: If HR integration is active, then employee role with personnel number linkage to BP is not possible manually.

To create BP for employees, you need to create BP role 'Employee' after creating the general role.

And to create BP for external resources, you need to create BP role 'Resources' after creating the general role.

Hope this has clarified your questions.

Ravi, Thanks for responding to my questions,

we are creating BP using HR_SYNC_PERSON

The issue we have is HR_SYNC_PERSON is populating all the sensitive data to the BUT / BP tables. We dont want to do that.

we want to send just only the name and dates information.

how do we control that ?

Hello Raj,

I am facing the same problem.

The BP I created through HR Integration are showing up in cProjects as resources.

The BP I created as employee in BP transaction won't show up.

Did you solve this problem and if so can you let me know how?

Thanks in advance,

Anna

Hi Raj,

you can run the transaction BP in the backend system and compare the 'good' case and  'bad' case.

I suppose, that there is something missing during  creation of BP manually.  I the role 'Resource' is maintained?

Kind regards,

Hello Raj,

For your question 1: Set up filters in your outbound IDOC creation program you can use any criterion that differentiates your selective employees that should be moved to PPM system. You might need custom development along with Config.

For Question 2: NO that is not due to HR integration. You will have to define the related roles for your business partner i.e. Employee, resource etc. So in order to staff you will have to create a resource role.

Hope that clarifies!

Hi Raj,

I think you can use program HR_SYNC_PERSON to create BP for selected employees by passing the employee numbers.

Secondly, in config you need to define the role of employee as BUP003 to create employee BP. For resources to come in cProjects BP should have been created as employee.

Hope this helps.

Hi Raj,

1. You can control this in your distribution model (idoc)

2. The resources used in cProjects have to be created as BP00003. - employee , then you have to configure that when a resource is created also BP000003 is created.

Not sure if this help you...
