Considerations for ERP integration during an SRM upgrade

We are upgrading SRM from EhP1 to EhP2.  In a classic scenario, we are integrated with our core ERP system.

The initial landscape build looks like:

Break/Fix line: SRM 7.01 DEV --> SRM 7.01 QA --> SRM 7.01 PROD (current)

Upgrade line: SRM 7.02 DEV --> SRM 7.02 QA --> SRM 7.02 PROD (upgraded)

Our core ERP line is/will be integrated with the upgrade line.  The concern is for break fix/maintenance issues we need to perform in the BreakFix line, what's the best way to address the lack of a separate ERP line for DEV and QA?

    I don't know if your project is still on. However here the two alternatives I picture:

    a) Accept the risk during the runtime of the upgrade. You can manage the risk by assessment of the planned maintenance changes and allowing only low risk changes w/o SRM implication.

    b) Set-up an additional ERP integration test system for maintenance on 7.01
